There is something so beautiful about seeing a healthy man love his son.
And I don’t mean when Shawn Wayans plays the role of a baby father and picks his son up for two seconds and then sets him down to tell the mother he will be back the following week to (literally) pick him up again. If you don’t know what I am talking about look up dance flick, “Such a good father,” or if you are on instagram, swipe left.
Yes I do believe that men get labeled “good fathers” way easier than a woman labeled a “good mother,” but that is not today’s post. This is especially because my amazing husband and father to my son really is a great father!
It has been a pleasure watching you from the moment when our son was born and you were nervous to do skin to skin, but did it anyways, and everyone in the room could see the joy on your face once you held him, to when you do your tiger strike on him now (tiger strike is what my husband calls it when he plays with my son and playfully pushes him over).
You make my job easier as a mom. I would definitely classify our work as 50/50 right now as parents and it’s a blessing because we both agreed that just because we have kids does not mean we will stop our passions or dreams. So we both put in work to raise this amazing young boy who will grow to be an amazing man one day.
Your hard work does not go unnoticed and I do not mean when you change poopy diapers, or put him to sleep when he is cranky. Your support and love that you pour into him everyday, your creative games and a million nicknames you have created, to the random freestyles and songs you make for him just to put a smile on his face are just the tip of the iceberg.
Thank you for not only being you, but taking care of yourself so that you can be the man you want to be not just for Judah but for our little family. I can’t wait to see how you continue to grow as a father as we continue on this journey of parenting and life.
I asked you how you would define a father and you told me that a father is, “ A man with the responsibility to teach, provide, protect, guide and most importantly to love his children.” Although it is early on I believe that you are killing the game and Judah is lucky to have you as a father and I lucky to have you as a husband.
There is nothing more amazing and attractive than a God fearing man who loves his children and wife. I love you babe!
