Five Ways To Move Your Body
Five Ways To Move Your Body
Working out is fantastic, but don’t discount everyday activities that require movement.
There are so many ways we can move our bodies daily to maintain our physical and mental health.
Here are Five ways I move my body:
Walking – Walking through a store, to the park, or a building, the steps add up. Walking is a perfect way to move your body outside your workouts to clear your mind and body. It’s incredible to track your daily steps to see how much you have traveled. You deserve credit for those steps, mainly because your body notices.
Play – Somebody can easily dismiss recreational sports, such as basketball, volleyball, and badminton. For some reason, we forget that we are still working out when we are having fun. Moving your body is exercise; there are different forms and intensity levels. Imagine sprinting, jogging, and dodging someone but not counting that movement as exercise. It’s called tag. Playing is the best form of movement!
Chores – Scrubbing countertops, mopping the floor, and taking out the trash will have you sweating! From grocery shopping, where you are lifting, loading, and reloading, your arms will burn, but it is yet more motion that your body loves! The crazy part is once you include outdoor chores like gardening and mowing the lawn, the intensity of these movements skyrockets! You will gain muscle and might even be sore after those chores.
Carrying Kids—Everyone talks about dad strength, but mom strength is unreal. If most people had to carry a kettlebell or two around with them everywhere, they would also be mad strong! Whether carrying them, pushing them up in the air, or squatting with them, our children act as natural kettlebells.
Dance—Those moments to ourselves where we dance in the mirror, with friends, or in a class are another great way to love your body. A mixture of stretching, core activation, and leg strengthening gives you a full-body workout.
Working out every day is excellent, but you still need to move your body. On days when you might beat yourself up for not working out, remember you did something!
Get out there and move your body for your sanity and enjoyment!
