My soothing Baby Playlist

Don’t let bedtime with your infant or toddler become stressful and miserable. With my soothing baby playlist and tricks for nap time, decrease stress and get some needed rest.

Naptime and bedtime can be rough for parents if there is no routine. Even with a routine in place, getting your little ones to sleep can still be challenging. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t take steps to make bedtime a smoother process.

To teach ourselves as parents and our kids that it is time to go to bed, we need to create a routine. I will post a more in-depth nighttime routine soon, but this will have to do for now.

Familiarity is vital when it comes to nap time and bedtime. Just like adults, babies, and toddlers find comfort in knowing what is coming next.

You can create familiarity where our kids take naps.

Creating a calm and relaxing environment can go unnoticed, but it always helps. Many components go into a smooth climate, temperature, sound, and touch being a part of it.

TOUCH.

With my boys, I try to make sure they have a soft blanket. They like plush throw blankets. The blanket HAS to be soft! I am sure this is because it is the main blanket we use in our household, so they are familiar with it.

SIGHT.

Of course, when it comes to lighting, we need to turn the lights completely off, or they need to be dimmed down to the lowest setting. If we are traveling or are in a place that only gives us partial control of the lighting, I improvise. I bring my car seat cover or a blanket to drape over their heads or create a fort to block out some light. If I have their stroller ( My BOB double jogger), I also use it to control the light.

TEMPERATURE.

Afterward, I blocked out light and wrapped them in one of their favorite blankets. It’s time to check the temperature. The temperature must be just right surrounding them. Again, if we are at home, sixty-nine degrees to seventy-one is perfect. If we are out of the house and don’t have a hundred percent control, We make sure to use tons of blankets or cool them off with portable fans.

SOUND.

Finally, I set the tone with music. After everything is set up, the last step is to tell them it is bedtime by playing my soothing baby playlist. This list is a culmination of songs they have heard many times to relax them. Most of them are instrumentals, although not all, and there are also a few sounds on there that are not songs.

Soothing baby music has been an enormous help when putting our sons down for a nap. It works for our toddler and our now five-month-old baby. We stick to the same songs, giving them routine and familiarity. I wanted to share our baby playlist in case you have a screaming baby who needs help relaxing or you need help during nap time.
